Licensing and Commissioning Service for Lay Ministry

On Saturday 12th October a small group of us went to Winchester Cathedral to celebrate Derick Potter being admitted/licensed to serve as an LLM for the Benefice of Ringwood. As he has recently moved to the area it is required that he is officially be transferred to the Diocese of Winchester. It was wonderful to watch Derick receive his license and we look forward to seeing him at services across the Benefice and getting to know him better.

Kevin Jones and Samantha Swyer took part in the BCM Pastoral programme earlier in the year. As a result, Samantha was among 90 others receiving their commission to work within the Benefice. This training is proving to be invaluable within the Benefice Office setting and she hopes that with further training she will be able to serve out in the community.

Photographs can be viewed here.

Unfortunately, due to administrative reasons many of the people taking part in the BCM programme this year were unable to receive their commission at this service. So we look forward with to returning next year to watch Kevin receive his commission for mission. Kevin will however be able to continue his wonderful pastoral work under a temporary license.

You can learn more about the BCM programme here.

Or if you think that perhaps you have a different calling, here is a good place to find out more information.
