Director of Music - Vacancy now closed for new applicants

Permanent post, Salary: £4,520 pa plus pension (depending on eligibility).

Ringwood Benefice came into being in October 2017 as a group of 6 churches and two parishes on the edge of the New Forest National Park, serving a population of 21,000 people. The Benefice is developing a strong vision for cross-benefice mission focussed around transforming worship, discipleship and community. We are looking for a colleague to join our Staff & Ministry Teams to lead the development of music within our worshipping life. The role, primarily based at Ringwood Parish Church, is key to a new service pattern that has ‘missing generations’ at its heart.

Job Purpose:

Ringwood Benefice comprises two parishes, the Parish of Ringwood with Ellingham and Harbridge (‘Parish of Ringwood) and the Parish of All Saints, St Leonards and St Ives. This role is to oversee the music ministry in the Parish of Ringwood, working with other church musicians to ensure the consistency with which music is offered across the five churches of the Parish of Ringwood. This affords the post-holder the opportunity to be part of a community of musicians across the Parish whilst being focused for much of their time on services at Ringwood Parish Church.

The role requires someone capable of bringing the breadth of Church music to the service pattern at Ringwood Parish Church. The Director of Music will be responsible for growing the number of people involved in singing and accompanying the music used at services. A key aspiration for the role is to build on the strong, existing connection with several local primary schools, with a view to forming a junior choir.

Closing Date for Applications: Friday 13th December at midday
