Monday, 23 December 2019 16:30 - 17:30

The celebration is named after the Christingles that are lit during the celebration. Christingles are made from an orange decorated with red tape, sweets and a candle.

Our modern Christingle consists of:

An orange – representing the world

A red ribbon, tied around the orange –  representing the blood of Jesus

Fruits and sweets, skewered on four cocktail sticks that are pushed into the orange – representing God’s good gifts of the fruits of the earth and the four seasons

A lighted candle, pushed into the centre of the orange – representing Christ, the light of the world
